Take Care of Your Heart

When I first learned that heart disease is the number one cause of death in women, I was stunned! I had no idea! It caused me to take a closer look at my behaviors and how those behaviors may put me at risk. I then began researching to learn more.
The American Heart Association reports that more than 1 in 3 women have some type of cardiovascular illness. These illnesses and conditions include, but are not limited to, congestive heart failure, arrhythmia, and angina. Some of the risk factors for heart disease are: cigarette smoking, being overweight, little or no physical activity, and having diabetes. Many women are unaware that they may be experiencing symptoms of heart disease. Subsequently, they may not seek treatment.
