Can’t Seem To Get It All Done?

Some days I feel like I’m spinning my wheels  —  nothing is being checked off my “to do” list. And when this happens I become so frustrated!  I then begin wishing that I had more hours in a day. If I had 6-8 hours more to my day, I could get so many things done. To take it  a step further, if I didn’t have certain tasks or responsibilities, I’d have even more time to get things done!  Really?!

The time I spend wishing and dreaming about having more time could be time used to do what needs to be done. Sometimes it’s so easy to fall into looking outside of ourselves to find answers to a personal dilemma.  For example, believing that being unproductive is not connected to what you’re personally doing or not doing. “I’m not getting things done because I don’t have enough time.”  I’d hate to think what would happen in the world if we all thought this way.

To begin working towards getting it done and being more productive, we have to examine closely what we’re doing.  We should assess what is working and what is not working for us.  And, we can also incorporate new skills and strategies into our daily routines. Here are a few tips that may help you to have better time management:

  • Plan each day.  Set a schedule and prioritize your tasks.
  • Limit distractions. Work for a block of time without answering the phone, responding to emails, watching television or listening to the radio.  Take breaks between those blocks of time.
  • Get plenty of rest, eat healthy, exercise. Doing these things will give you the energy needed to complete your work.
  • Consult with a Coach. To help you to develop a personal plan to increase productivity.

Let me know what you’re doing to increase your productivity. Looking forward to hearing from you!

All the Best!
